What is steeplechase?

The 3000-meter steeplechase is an official athletics event that consists of seven full laps on a 400-meter track. Each lap includes four fixed hurdles and one water jump. This amounts to 28 hurdles and 7 water obstacles in total. The hurdles are robust, non-rebounding, and designed not to fall over. The standard hurdle height is 91.4 cm for men and 76.2 cm for women.

This event requires a combination of speed, coordination, endurance, and jumping power. Steeplechase has been part of the Olympic Games and other international championships for many years.

Steeplechase water jump
