Visiting SVW '27

"If you have a good relationship, you shouldn't switch. The grass always seems greener, but at SKOR, things just get taken care of."

At SVW '27 in Heerhugowaard, it has been about more than just football for almost a century. It is a club with a warm atmosphere where people know each other. Peter de Boer, former board member and now responsible for the clothing shop, has felt at home there since his first day. "It's congenial here," he says. "A bit like a village, everyone greets each other. We always want to maintain that atmosphere."

A fast-growing club with a strong identity

SVW '27 is growing rapidly. Due to the enormous new housing estate next to the sports park, the number of members is approaching one thousand. But despite this growth, the culture remains the same: accessible, personal, and warm.

“That village feeling must remain, even when we get a new complex.”

Volunteers are the heart of the association. They take care of the cleaning, maintenance, youth training, and everything else involved in running a club. Peter is there almost every day. "It's hard work sometimes," he says. "But people help each other here. That's in the DNA of this club."

Nevertheless, SVW ’27 also sees that volunteer work is under pressure, just like at many other amateur clubs. That is precisely why it is important that the club remains a place where everyone feels welcome. “That village feeling must remain, even when we get a new multifunctional complex. That is really important to us.”

Looking for a partner who *does* understand how a club works

About seven years ago, Peter ran into something that many clubs recognize: fragmented suppliers, high prices, and a lack of service. “We had goals and nets from all sorts of parties. If something was broken, you sometimes got a bill of €150 for a goal net. That's not right, is it? Then you don't feel like a customer, but a number.”

Through the sports fair in Gorinchem, he got into conversation with SKOR. That turned out to be a turning point. “The approach was immediately different. Honest and not distant. You immediately notice that you are talking to a party that knows what an association needs.”

"You immediately notice that you are talking to a party that knows what an association needs."

The first order, new goals, was so satisfactory that the collaboration quickly expanded. In the meantime, goal nets, training material, dugouts, and player benches all come from SKOR.

Tangible quality that grows with the club

What started with goals and nets has grown into a long-term collaboration. Especially now that the club is preparing for a new accommodation, a reliable material partner is indispensable.

The municipality itself also works with SKOR, which simplifies the process. And for Peter, it's nice to know where he can go if something needs to be arranged. "If I order something, it always works out. And if something goes wrong, it gets resolved. Without any hassle."

Why SKOR specifically? For Peter, it's simple

“The nice thing is that there's no noise on the line,” he says. No distant emails, but people who know what's going on at a club. “You have someone on the line who you know and who understands that a goal net is not a luxury, but something your club needs to function.”

"If you buy things that last for years, you won't easily choose another one afterwards."

The quality of the material also plays a role. The dugouts and benches purchased years ago will simply be moved to the new complex. "If you buy items that last for years, you won't quickly choose another one afterwards."

The most important thing for him is that SKOR is one of the few parties that truly thinks along. "You don't have to knock on the doors of five different suppliers. That provides peace of mind, especially with such a large club with many volunteers."

A partner that fits the club

For Peter, collaboration is about more than just ordering and delivering. Personal contact remains key for him. It's about relationships, trust, and supporting each other. "I come from retail. If you have a good relationship, you shouldn't switch. The grass always seems greener, but that often turns out not to be the case. With SKOR, things just get taken care of."
