For the new indoor amusement park Bommelwereld, SKOR supplied the theatre seats for the atmospheric castle theatre. In close collaboration with Marveld Recreatie, a comfortable, stylish seating arrangement has been realised that perfectly matches the experience of Olivier B. Bommel and Tom Poes.

Right next to the N18 near Groenlo, a fairytale castle is rising: Bommelwereld, the new indoor amusement park where Olivier B. Bommel and Tom Poes come to life. Peter Harbers, who works in the technical service department at Marveld Recreatie, talks about the two-year project. Within Bommelwereld, he was responsible for the complete project management. A gigantic task that he has been working on for a year and a half.
When asked what factors influenced the choice of a supplier, Peter says: "We already had an idea of what we wanted, but the price also played a role." After a good conversation with Arjan, the outdoor sales account manager, Marveld chose SKOR. "Arjan brought a prototype to us. We liked the colour, and together with the appearance of the chair and the price, we decided to work with you."
From drawing to theatre setup
SKOR was involved in the entire process regarding the seating, from the request to the delivery. During this project, they actively contributed ideas. "The basic idea was already there," Peter explains. "We sent you a drawing of the space, asking how many seats would fit."
It was then up to SKOR to arrange the theatre as efficiently as possible, making optimal use of the available space. This showed that there was room for 250 Mozart chairs.
Peter looks back on the collaboration with satisfaction. "Communication was generally good and we knew where we stood with each other," he says. For SKOR, it was a special project to work on, as it was one of the first times that theatre seats were supplied and installed. A process from which much has been learned and valuable experience gained for future projects.
A result to be proud of
“Outsiders are amazed at how it looks,” says Peter. “At the opening, everyone was like, wow: what a place this is!” Marveld Recreatie has tried to recreate the look and feel of the Ollie B. Bommel comic strips. “The look of the chairs fits well. It's not truly classic, but it's close to classic. Just like the theater itself.”
The end result is an atmospheric theater that immediately embraces visitors with warmth and character. An appearance that perfectly matches the rest of the park.
